Sapulpa Community Theatre

Sapulpa Community Theatre held their First Annual STARS Awards Gala on Saturday, July 18th at the Theatre. Hosting the event, the Board of Directors honored patrons, and the casts and crews of the 2008-09 Season productions. Season ticket holders, donors, Board members, and the actors and technical crews of each of the six season shows voted on their favorites from those shows: two each in the categories of child actor, male and female supporting actor, and male and female actor. Also awarded honors were favorite director, stage manager, technical director and costumer.

SCT proudly presented the Frankoma rendition of comedy and tragedy drama masks from a special firing for their 75th anniversary year as awards.

Receiving the premier Hall of Fame award, an acrylic etching of the Theatre, in recognition of a 30-year association with Sapulpa Community Theatre was John B. Clark, actor, founder, and retired Board member emeritus. Other founders in attendance were Wes Vinyard, Debbie Turnham Pope, and Carol McMasters.

Invited guests enjoyed “A Taste of Sapulpa” – wine and appetizers provided by Lori’s Tea Room, Reasor’s, Hickory House BBQ, Wal-Mart, Freddie’s Steakhouse, Warehouse Market, Selena’s Steakhouse, Mazzio’s, Fireside Talent, Two Divas’ Delights, and individual members of the Board. Festivities centered on a completely rebuilt stage made possible through the generosity of a gift from The Bartlett Foundation. Flowing backdrops and balloons in silver, black and burgundy set the tone for a very enjoyable evening.
